Fishkill, N.Y. (May 25, 2007)- Top-seeded Le Moyne College (33-17) advanced to the title game with a 2-1 victory over second-seeded Manhattan College (34-18) in game four of the 2007 Anaconda Sports MAAC Baseball Championship at Dutchess Stadium.
Le Moyne posted its first run in the bottom of the fifth inning as Robby Perez doubled down the left field line to allow Ben Gaal to score.
Manhattan then tied it up at 1-1 in the top of the eighth inning, with Rene Ruiz knocking a single to right field to bring in pinch runner Erik Lucas.
With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Gaal singled to left field to allow MAAC Player of the Year Andy Parrino score the winning run.
Le Moyne's Ryan Woods was credited with the win (6-1). Manhattan's Josh Santerre fell to 7-5 on the year with the complete game effort, giving up four hits while striking out 10 in a gutty performance.
Manhattan will look to advance to extend its season when it takes on #3 Marist College in an elimination game tonight at 7:00 p.m.
