Manhattan returns to Riverdale after dropping its most recent series against Niagara 2-1. The Jaspers dropped game one on Friday but bounced back on Saturday to secure a 3-2 win behind a pair of home runs from
Greg Shaw and
Logan Pfannenbecker, the first time both of the Jaspers have left the park in their collegiate careers. The Jaspers dropped the rubber game. 9-8, on Sunday.
Manhattan will get its second look at the Seawolves after suffering a one-run loss, 6-5, at Joe Nathan Field.
Tyler Babel, who drew the start at Stony Brook, will also once again be handed the ball to start the game.
In the prior meeting, Pfannenbecker brought around a pair of runs while
Trevor Hansen provided a pair of base hits.
Since that meeting, Stony Brook has posted a 2-5 record, with those two wins coming against William & Mary and Northeastern.
As for Marist, they will play a pair of midweek games before heading to Pomona for the weekend series. On Tuesday, the Red Foxes will travel to Hartford and then host Columbia on Wednesday. They enter the week at 7-26 overall and 3-6 in MAAC contests. Bayram Hot's bat has taken its wielder to the heart thus far, batting a torrid .394 to lead the Red Foxes' offensive attack.
