Edison, NJ - Thirty-one members of Manhattan's men's and women's track teams were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team this outdoor season. To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.
The Jasper women had 19 student-athletes earn a spot on the All-Academic Team, while the Jasper men added 12. Monmouth led the MAAC with 23 recipients from their women's team, while Marist had 21 men earn All-Academic Team honors.Â
The Jaspers took home four individual MAAC titles this past weekend at the conference championships, led by sprinter
Niasia Boone (Morrisville, PA / Pennsbury), who won gold in both the 100- and 200-meter races.
Enrique Martinez (San Salvador, El Salvador) won gold in the men's hammer throw, while
Will Stallings (Sleepy Hollow, NY / Sleepy Hollow) earned the top spot in the men's 4x400.Â
This weekend, the Jaspers will compete in the ECAC/IC4A Championships, starting Saturday, May 11 at Princeton.Â
