Riverdale, N.Y. (May 13, 2007)- In a battle of the teams that will be the top two seeds at the MAAC Tournament in two weeks, Le Moyne College put up crooked numbers in each of the first four innings on the way to an 8-4 win at Manhattan this afternoon at Van Cortlandt Park.  The Jaspers fall out of first place for the first time all season, dropping to 31-16, 19-4 MAAC on the season, while the Dolphins take over first place with a record of 27-17, 19-3 MAAC.

Andy Parrino led off the game with a solo blast to right field to give Le Moyne the early advantage, but Manhattan responded with a run in the bottom of the frame.  Rene Ruiz singled to lead off the inning, and advanced to third on an error before scoring on a sacrifice fly by Matt Rizzotti.

The Dolphins regained the lead in the second on a two run homer by Robby Perez, and added another run in the top of the third on an RBI single to take a 4-1 lead.

Manhattan rallied for three runs in the bottom of the frame to knot the score at 4-4.  Mike Garcia drove in Kevin Nieto with a double down the left field line, and Dom Lombardi followed with a two-RBI single to right, scoring Nick Derba and Garcia.

Le Moyne was not to be denied in this game, taking the lead for good in the Dolphins' next turn at bat, scoring two runs on a single.  Le Moyne added two insurance runs in the top of the seventh to provide the final margin.

Manhattan returns to the diamond May 18-19, traveling to Jersey City, N.J. to take on MAAC foe Saint Peter's College in the final conference series before the MAAC Playoffs.  The Jaspers and Peacocks will play a single, nine-inning game on Friday, May 18 at 3:30 p.m. and will conclude the series with a twin bill on Saturday, May 19, with the first pitch slated for 12 noon.
