Syracuse NY (April 26, 2004)- LeMoyne posted an 8-1 win over Manhattan today in the rubber match of the three game MAAC series at Dick Rockwell Field on the LeMoyne campus. The Jaspers fall to 12-20-1, 7-6 in MAAC play, and are tied with Siena for fourth place.
The Jaspers took an early 1-0 lead on a
John Fitzpatrick solo homer leading off the second inning, but LeMoyne (21-14, 14-1 MAAC) scored two runs in each of the next two innings to take a 4-1 lead.
The Dolphins scored two more in the fifth to chase Manhattan starter
Mike Parisi, and score single runs in the sixth and eighth to provide the final margin.
Alan Drechsler (5-0) pitched eight innings, allowing one run on three hits, while striking out five. Parisi (1-5) struck out four over five innings.
Manhattan plays again on Wednesday, April 28, when the Jaspers host Columbia at 3:00 p.m.
