JERSEY CITY, NJ– The Manhattan Jaspers men's and women's swimming and diving teams saw numerous first-place finishes against the Saint Peter's Peacocks on Saturday inside the Eugene and Teresa Imperatore Swimming and Diving Center but fell overall 169-65 on the men's side, while the women fell 136-98.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Leading the way for Manhattan was Junior Elle Feneide, who claimed first in the Women 1650 Yard Freestyle with a final time of 18:55.90, nearly 30 seconds better than Saint Peter's Solano Vargas, who finished second.
- Feneide recorded a first-place finish in the Women 100 Yard Freestyle, with a finals time of 55.19.
- Junior Jaila Williamson finished atop the Women 100 Yard Breaststroke chart with a final time of 1:11.72.
- Senior Joe Brennan finished second in the Men 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 59:24.
- Junior Abelardo Cartagena logged a second-place finish in the Men 200 Yard Backstroke with a 2:10.08 time.
- Manhattan dominated the Women 100 Yard Butterfly, with Feneide logging a final mark of 1:01.99, nearly four seconds better than her teammate in junior Sophia Leber, who finished second in the respective event.
- As a team in the Women 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, Leber, Williamson, Feneide, and junior Shayna Millard registered a finals time of 3:44.84 to claim victorious.
