POMONA, N.Y. –
Logan Pfannenbecker connected on a pair of doubles in an 8-2 loss Friday afternoon in the Manhattan baseball team's series opener to the Marist Red Foxes.
The series continues tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. at Clover Stadium on
ESPN3.
The Red Foxes' bats had Jasper starter
Will Hesslink's number early, utilizing a five-run third inning, which featured back-to-back two-run doubles, and created a gap that Manhattan was unable to overcome.
The offense that was generated came from the hero of the Jaspers last time out,
Frankie Marinelli, who knocked in a run on an RBI single and a ninth-inning sac-fly from
Nick Plue.
Marinelli turned in three hits and also swiped three bags, bringing his season total up to a team-high 14.
