RIVERDALE, N.Y. – After taking the series finale from Fairfield last week, the Manhattan baseball team returns to action this week with a midweek meeting against LIU at Clover Stadium before heading to Western New York for a weekend series with the Niagara Purple Eagles.

Manhattan will look to avenge their defeat at the hands of the Sharks a couple of weeks ago at LIU, 6-4.
Frankie Marinelli enters the week eighth in the MAAC with an OPS of .456 as well as tied for fourth in the league with 22 free passes. He is also tied for fifth in stolen bases, swiping 10 thus far.
Since their victory over the Green and White, the Sharks are 4-2, including series wins against Sacred Heart and Norfolk State.
As for the Jaspers MAAC opponent, the Purple Eagles enter the week at 14-11 overall with a MAAC mark of 5-4 thus far. Niagara will not be playing a midweek game prior to welcoming the Jaspers to Bobo Field. The Purple Eagles utilized a walk-off to secure a 2-1 series victory over Quinnipiac last week. In their other two MAAC series', they swept the Saint Peter's Peacocks and were swept by Rider.
Niagara's offense is powered by graduate student Max Giordano, who has started the year off batting a torrid .396 with nine long balls and 31 RBI. The nine home runs are tied for four in the MAAC while the 31 RBI are third in the league.
