Jaspers Open MAAC Play This Week

RIVERDALE, N.Y. -- The Manhattan Baseball team will stay up north for the entire week, opening their week with a midweek meeting with the Sharks of LIU, followed by the team's MAAC opener over in Jersey City for a three game series with the Saint Peter's Peacocks.

Wednesday's game will be broadcast on NEC Front Row with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m.

Manhattan is coming off a tough week after dropping a game to Columbia followed by a sweep at the hands of the George Washington Colonials over the weekend.

The Jaspers will meet the Sharks, who own a record of 4-18 and 4-5 in NEC contests. The Sharks are coming off a series win, taking two of three from Stonehill, The top bat in the Sharks lineup belongs to Carlton Harper, who is batting .367 with 13 RBI and 17 runs. Leading the team in RBI thus far is Jake Mastillo who has knocked in 23 runs.

As for the Peacocks, they are still trying to find their groove, owning a record of 1-20 and 0-3 in MAAC play. The top performer thus far for Saint Peter's thus far is Jack Eichler, who is batting .286 with 22 hits and six RBI,
