RIVERDALE, N.Y. – This Saturday, the women's lacrosse team competes in the opening round of the MAAC Championship. While softball plays six games and baseball has a full four-game schedule. The rowing team returns to action in the Spring Metropolitan Championships in New Rochelle, N.Y. The men's and women's track teams travel to three different meets this week.
The women's lacrosse team defeated Niagara on Sunday, 12-10. During the contest, Grace Lipponer added three assists and broke a new program record single-season assist. Ashley Gambardella made nine saves and passed 300 career saves in goal for Manhattan.
Friday, the men's lacrosse team defeated Monmouth 11-4 on the road. Sean MacKinney tallied five goals for Manhattan.
Brendan Krebs made 8 saves in goal for the Jaspers. Jake Nicolosi added four points for the Green and White.
On Sunday, the baseball team secured a 7-5 victory over Rider. Matt Padre had a team-high three hits and scored once.
Pete Durocher and
Jack Lynch had multi-hit days, and
Trevor Santos drove in a season-best three runs.
The Manhattan softball team won both games in a doubleheader at home, 7-1, and 6-3. Megan Gillooley hit a two-run shot to center in the second to make it a 3-0 Manhattan lead. In the fifth,
Megan Hedlund extended the Jaspers' lead to 6-1 with her two-run homer to center field.
The Manhattan golf team finished ninth at the 2022 MAAC Championship, in Disney's Magnolia Golf Course. Colby Norton finished the three-day championship in T29 (+14) to be the top finisher for the Jaspers. Jimmy Escoto was one shot back in T31. Samuel Taraian finished in T37 (+19), and Lincoln Haymaker was 42nd (+31).
