RIVERDALE, NY – Kerri Inman has announced she will be stepping down as Director of Cross Country, Track and Field at Manhattan University, effective June 30, 2025.
A 2015 IAAF Track & Field Championship semi-finalist in the 1500m representing Team USA, Inman arrived at Manhattan in August 2016 to serve as Head Cross Country, Middle Distance, and Distance Coach for the Jaspers. She was promoted to Director in 2021, becoming just the eighth head coach in the 127-year history of Manhattan, including Cross Country, Track and Field's first female head coach.
"I would like to thank Manhattan University for the privilege of serving as Director the past four years and for my nine years altogether," said Inman. "The Jaspers took a chance on a young, first-time head coach, and I'll be forever grateful for that vote of confidence. Thanks to an outstanding group of coaches and student-athletes coupled with a supportive alumni base, we have worked hard to sustain and grow these programs over the years. I am confident about the exciting trajectory of Manhattan Cross Country, Track & Field moving forward."
"On behalf of the Athletic Department and Manhattan University, I extend our deepest gratitude to Coach Inman for her unwavering dedication and outstanding leadership of the Cross Country and Track & Field programs." Said, Director of Athletics Irma Garcia.
"Under her guidance, our student-athletes have grown both on and off the field, developing as competitors and individuals. We wish Coach Inman all the best in her future endeavors. She will always be a Jasper, and we look forward to welcoming her and her family back to future events."
During her Jasper tenure, Inman oversaw the growth of the Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track and Field programs. Under her tutelage, the programs produced eleven school records, 24 individual MAAC Champions, two MAAC Outstanding Field Performers, and three MAAC Outstanding Rookie Performers. Last year, at the 2024 MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championship, the men's team finished third overall.
Additionally, Inman contributed considerably by serving as Event Director of the Manhattan University Cross Country Invitational, sparking a revival of one of the nation's largest and most prestigious high school cross country meets.
Garcia will lead the search to identify Inman's successor.
