BUFFALO, N.Y. – The first day of the 2022 MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships was Wednesday, and the Manhattan is ninth in men's and women's standings after day one.
Both the men and women scored 36 points on Wednesday. Fairfield leads the women's standings with 109 points. Rider paces the men's field with 70 points.
The Jaspers swam four relays on Wednesday and set new season-bests in all four.
The women shaved 1.5 seconds off their season-best time in the 200y medley relay with a 1:51.32 on Wednesday to finish ninth.
Mackenzie Tuttle and
Teddy Segmuller swam the third and four legs and recorded the two fastest split times with 26.29 and 24.74, respectively.
In the 800y free relay,
Jessica O'Brien,
Jamie Quinn,
Juliana Saric,
Kate Maio knocked 22 seconds off the team's best time in the event with an 8:38.62.
On the men's side in the 200y medley relay,
Michael Popescu swam the anchor leg in 22.95 for the Jaspers to finish in 1:36.64, which was three seconds off of eighth.

Louis Quinn, and
Jack Martin swam the 800y free relay for the Jaspers. The quartet touched the wall in 7:25.23, which was 13 seconds faster than the Jaspers' previous best mark this season.
Day two of the 2022 MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships gets underway at 10 a.m. tomorrow from the Burt Flickinger Center at Erie Community College in Buffalo, N.Y.
