Princeton, NJ - At the 2018 ECAC/IC4A Championships on Sunday, May 13, Manhattan track and field's
Ire Bozovicar (Potoki, Slovenia / Gimazija Jesenice) won championship in the discus throw, hitting a mark of 52.88 meters. His teammate,
Brenton Foster (Townsville, Australia / William Ross), won the high jump at the meet, reaching a height of 2.18 meters, his best performance of the season.
Foster's winning jump currently places him at 22nd in NCAA Division I track and field. Bozovicar sits at 59th in the country for his 54.83-meter discus throw at the 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships.
Freshman
Anu Awonusi (Dublin, Ireland / Kilkenny College) earned a sixth-place finish in the men's shot put, throwing a distance of 15.91 meters. Junior
Eric Waugh (Wheatley Heights, NY / Half Hollow Hills West) placed 11th in the event, with a distance of 14.74 meters. Bozovicar placed 16th, throwing 14.42 meters. In the pole vault, freshman
Eduard Winner (Tel Aviv, Israel) earned a ninth-place finish, hitting a height of 4.85 meters.
Manhattan women's track and field earned a fourth-place finish in the 4x800 relay. The team, made up of

Erin Spadaccini (Wilmington, DE / Padua Academy),
Kaitlyn Smith (Effort, PA / Pleasant Valley), and
Kelly Gorman (South Amboy, NJ / Cardinal McCarrick) finished the race in 9:04.73.
On Saturday, Manhattan senior
Love Litzell (Ostersund, Sweden / Wargentinskolan) earned a fourth-place finish in the men's hammer throw, hitting a mark of 63.92 meters, his best performance of the season.
Junior
Lisa Fajardo (Brooklyn, NY / Bishop Kearney) placed sixth in the women's 5,000-meters, finishing in 16:50.15. Fajardo improved on her 2017 ECAC time (17:04.22) in the event by nearly 15 seconds. Teammate
Amir Khaghani (Bethesda, MD / Walt Whitman) placed 11th in the men's 5,000-meters, finishing in 14:57.03.
Gorman finished 18th in the women's 800-meter race with a time of 2:11.55.
The Manhattan men's team tied with Monmouth for ninth place overall at the championships. The women's team placed 35th overall.
