The teams resumed play after seeing yesterday's game halted due to darkness as the Jaspers improve to 12-10 with their fifth-straight victory with the Lions falling to 5-17.

Freshman Matt Padre (Flemington, NJ / Hunterdon Central) went 3-for-5 with four RBI and a run while falling a homer short of the cycle to pace a seven-hit Manhattan attack. Senior Brendan Bisset (New City, NY / Don Bosco Prep (NJ)) singled, drew three walks and scored three runs, including the game-winner in the top of the 10th.

Junior Fabian Pena (Miami, FL / Calusa Prep) was 2-for-4 with a run while Senior Adam Genners (Jacksonville, FL / Stanton College Prep) was 1-for-3 with a run, RBI and walk to round out the top Jasper performers on offense.

Columbia jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before Padre plated Bisset with a two-out RBI double in the top of the second.

The Lions would extend their advantage out to 4-1 after three innings of play before Manhattan broke through with four runs in taking a 5-4 lead in the top of the fourth. Pena singled with one out before Bisset and sophomore Alex Cerda (Miami, FL / Florida Christian Prep) drew walks to load up the bases. Padre followed with a bases-clearing triple to tie up the game at 4-4. Genners then gave the Jaspers their first lead of the day with a two-out, RBI single to chase home Padre.

Columbia would immediately tie the game in the bottom part of the frame at 5-5.

In the top of the seventh, Genners led off the frame with a walk before scoring on a Matt Forlow (GS, Cold Spring, NY / Haldane) RBI triple. Back-to-back MAAC Player of the Week Richie Barrella (Jr., Larchmont, NY / Canterbury Prep) would plate Forlow later in the frame with a RBI ground out in giving the visitors a 7-5 lead.

The Lions would get one run in each of the final two frames in helping to force extras.

Sophomore RHP T.J. Stuart (MIlfort, CT / Joseph A. Foran) struck out one while yielding one run on one hit over 3.0 innings in earning the win.

Randell Kanemaru went 3-for-6 with three runs to lead the way for Columbia.

Manhattan returns to action at Fordham on Friday, March 30 with first pitch tabbed for 11:00 am.
