NEW YORK – On Thursday evening, the 110th NYRR Millrose Games got underway with the weight throw at the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center. Three members of the Manhattan College men's indoor track & field team were entered in the event, with Love Litzell (Ostersund, Sweden) winning the bronze medal.
Litzell's best effort was his fifth-round attempt of 19.38 meters (63 feet, seven inches). That toss was just two centimeters short of the second-place finisher. He also finished ahead of Conor McCullough, a former U.S. National Champion in the hammer throw. Manhattan's other two entries in the event were Ire Bozovicar (Potoki, Slovenia) and Gustave Menocal (Bronx, NY). Bozovicar was sixth with a 16.02 m (52'6¾) effort, while Menocal finished seventh with a mark of 15.71 m (51'6½).
The NYRR Millrose Games will continue on Saturday afternoon, and Manhattan is entered in three events. The men's distance medley relay is set for 3:16 p.m., followed by the women's Metropolitan 4x400 meter relay at 3:28 p.m. Manhattan will also take part in the men's Metropolitan 4x400 relay, which will be televised live on NBC at 4:37 p.m.
