Senior Stefanie Ranagan (Yorktown Heights, NY / Yorktown) opened the scoring by netting back-to-back goals within 39 seconds of each other in setting the tone for the game.
UNH would hang around and trim the deficit to 5-4 before Manhattan ripped off four-straight goals in opening up a 9-4 advantage with senior Kaitlyn Cunningham (Spring Lake, NJ / Red Bank Catholic) starting the spurt with two goals before Ranagan and classmate Megan Yarusso (Brewster, NY / Brewster) found the back of the net.
After halftime the Wildcats would trim the deficit to 11-9 nine before junior Sarah Lang (Golden's Bridge, NY / Vermont) and senior Claire Roediger (Katonah, NY / Somers) posted goals to for all intents and purposes put the game out of reach.
The Wildcats would put a late scare into the Jaspers with two goals but could get no closer than that in falling 13-11.
Ranagan paced an impressive Manhattan attack with three goals and two assists while also adding five draw controls.
Nikki Prestiano (Cortlandt Manor, NY / Yorktown) had six saves in earning the win for the Jaspers.
Manhattan returns to action at Vermont on Wednesday, March 30 with first draw slated for 3:00 pm.
