PRINCETON, N.J. – The ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championships concluded on Sunday afternoon from Princeton University's Weaver Stadium.  Bobby Gebhard (Saddle River, N.J.) wrapped up a successful meet for Manhattan College with a fifth-place showing in the IC4A Championships triple jump.

Gebhard was one of six Jaspers in action on the final day of competition.  His best effort was 14.89 meters (48 feet, 10¼ inches), which was just three centimeters behind Coppin State's Shane Green.  Meanwhile, Phil Ragan (Belmar, N.J.) took 16th place in the javelin (60.16 m, 197'4).  Mohamed Koita (Cergy, France) competed in the high jump, but didn't clear a height.

Rokas Kirlys (Kamaji, Lithuania), who received his degree and served as student marshal for the School of Business during Manhattan's 172nd Undergraduate Commencement on Sunday afternoon, began his day by contesting the shot put at the IC4A Championships for the fourth consecutive year.  Kirlys ended up 16th overall with a mark of 16.20 m (53'1¾) in his final collegiate competition.

In the women's ECAC Championships, Lina Bengtson (Malmo, Sweden) added four points to Manhattan's team total by placing fifth with a toss of 14.62 m (47'11¾).  In addition, Bianca Marten (Waiblingen, Germany) finished 14th in the triple jump with a leap of 12.05 m (39'6½).  However, Marten was just five centimeters out of 10th place and seven away from ninth.

As a team, Manhattan earned 19 points to finish tied for 20th in the IC4A team standings.  Pittsburgh won the team title with 51 points.  The Jasper women tied for 32nd place with nine team points.  Connecticut captured the ECAC crown with a score of 85 points.

After an off weekend, Manhattan returns to action at the NCAA East Preliminary Round in Jacksonville, Fla., from May 29-31.  The top 48 athletes in each event qualify for the Preliminary Round, with the top 12 finishers advancing to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., from June 11-14.
