PRINCETON, N.J. – It was another successful day for the Manhattan College outdoor track & field team at the Sam Howell Invitational from Princeton University's Weaver Stadium on Saturday.  One day after Love Litzell (Ostersund, Sweden) won the men's hammer throw competition, the recorded four more event victories, including three by Bianca Marten (Waiblingen, Germany).

Marten finished first in both the long jump and triple jump, as well as the 100 meter hurdles.  Her best effort in the long jump was 5.74 meters (18 feet, 10 inches), while her top mark in the triple jump was 12.00 m (39'4½).  Marten's winning time in the 100 hurdles was 14.30 seconds.  Meanwhile, in the men's 400 meters, Sheldon Derenoncourt (Patchogue, N.Y.) registered a 47.93-second clocking to take home the victory.

Other top performers included Lydia Wehrli (Anieres, Switzerland), who finished second in the women's hammer throw (57.52 m, 188'8), and Stefan Hoeller (Bergisch Gladbach, Germany), who was third in the men's pole vault (4.65 m, 15'3).  Lina Bengtson (Malmo, Sweden) grabbed fourth place in the shot put (14.75 m, 48'4¾) to go along with her fourth-place showing in the discus on Friday.  Phil Ragan (Belmar, N.J.) added a fourth-place result in the men's javelin (60.47 m, 198'5).

Manhattan also sent a contingent to the Roadrunner Invitational at Ramapo College.  Tom Voorheis (Syracuse, N.Y.) grabbed third place in the 5000 meters (15:47.32) to go along with his win in the 10,000 on Friday night.  Anthony Colasurdo (Lanoka Harbor, N.J.), meanwhile, took second in the men's 1500 meters, posting a time of 4:04.79.

On the women's side, Sarah Moore (Irvington, N.Y.) earned the victory in the pole vault.  Her winning leap was 3.05 m (10'0).  Alexandra Cappello (Scarsdale, N.Y.) was second in the 5000 (18:19.02) and Katie Saroka (Blue Point, N.Y.) placed fourth in the 3000 meter steeplechase (11:57.34).

Next Saturday, the Jaspers will take part in a six-way meet from Army's Shea Stadium.
