WEST POINT, N.Y. – After taking nearly a month off from competition, the Manhattan College men's and women's indoor track & field teams returned to action at the Army Four-Way Meet on Saturday afternoon from Gillis Field House.  Going against Lehigh, Rider and host Army, the Jaspers recorded eight event wins on the day.

It was a particularly strong day for Manhattan's newcomers.  Bianca Marten (Waiblingen, Germay) won the women's triple jump with a distance of 11.75 meters (38 feet, 6¾ inches) and finished second in the 60 meter hurdles (8.97).  Hayden Clarke (Townsville, Australia), meanwhile, leaped 6.96 m (22'10) to take the men's long jump by 22 centimeters.

Manhattan swept the men's horizontal jumps, as Trevell Moxey (Lansdale, Pa.) captured the triple jump with a mark of 14.50 m (47'7).  In the men's high jump, school record-holder Mohamed Koita (Cergy, France) was the only jumper to clear 2.09 m (6'10¼).  After wining the weight throw with a toss of 16.75 m (54'11½), Blerim Pocesta (Staten Island, N.Y.) notched a fourth-place showing in the shot put (14.70 m, 48'2¾).  Rokas Kirlys (Kamaji, Lithuania) was second in the shot put (15.89 m, 52'1¾).

The men's team also saw several solid efforts on the track.  Greg Perrier (Dix Hills, N.Y.) won the mile in 4:18.77, and later joined with Lucas Bittigkoffer (Neulingen, Germany), Anthony Colasurdo (Lanoka Harbor, N.J.) and Mikael Rojeras (Sala, Sweden) to take first place in the 4x800 meter relay with an 8:00.11 clocking.  In addition, Manhattan got second-place finishes from Tom Voorheis (Syracuse, N.Y.) in the 3000 meters (8:49.60) and Anthony Hall (Mountainville, N.Y.) in the 60 meters (7.12).  Hall also finished third in the 200 meters (22.65).

On the women's side, Lydia Wehrli (Anieres, Switzerland) had a best effort of 17.33 m (56'10¼) in the weight throw, which was good for the victory.  Sprinters Ieva Vitola (Jekabpils, Latvia) (7.97) and Kathy Cadet (Endicott, N.Y.) (8.13) finished second and third in the 60, then reversed that order in the 200 (Cadet second in 26.05, Vitola third in 26.35).  Alexandra Cappello (Scarsdale, N.Y.) was third in the 3000 (10:31.89), while Milena Stoicev (Nis, Serbia) captured third place in two events.  After posting a time of 5:21.20 in the mile, she joined with Janie Turek (Mt. Sinai, N.Y.), Katie Saroka (Blue Point, N.Y.) and Elizabeth Rosenberger (Ramsey, N.J.) in the 4x800 relay.  That quartet posted a 10:15.30 clocking.
