Complete Results

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Lydia Wehrli (Anieres, Switzerland) broke her own ManhattanCollege record in the women's hammer throw at the Dick Shea Invitational from Shea Stadium on Friday afternoon.  Wehrli, who had a toss of 57.16 meters (187 feet, six inches) at last weekend's ASU Invitiational, topped that mark and easily won the competition with a 57.35 m (188'2) effort on Friday.

Manhattan's contingent at the meet was limited to a small group of throwers.  In the men's hammer throw, Blerim Pocesta (Staten Island, N.Y.) qualified for the IC4A Championships with a distance of 53.48 m (175'5).  Ian McGinnis (Philadelphia, Pa.) had a personal-best toss of 51.80 m (169'11) in the hammer throw while also grabbing second place in the discus (47.62 m, 156'3).  Rokas Kirlys (Kamaji, Lithuania) placed fourth in the discus with a top mark of 45.17 m (148'2).

Up next for the Jaspers is the Roadrunner Invitational at Ramapo College on Friday and Saturday.  The following weekend, the Metropolitan Outdoor Championships will be held on the same track.
