Bethlehem, PA (March 2, 2005)- The Lady Jaspers lost their season opener to Lehigh on this bitter cold afternoon in Bethlehem, PA, 11-6. Sophomore
Jenny Carman scored two goals for Manhattan but it was not enough to overcome the Mountain Hawks. The Jaspers overall record drops to 0-1-0 while Lehigh improves to 2-0-0.
Jenny Carman started the scoring 2:20 seconds into the game on an unassisted goal. Lehigh answered back scoring three goals in a four minute time slot making the score, 3-1. At the 13:02 mark the Lady J's got on the board again when sophomore
Katelyn Williams scored a goal off of a feed from junior
Catherine Dunbar to get the Jaspers within one. Lehigh scored one more goal before then end of the first half to lead the game by two going into halftime.
The first goal in the second half came at the 24:45 mark by Lehigh's Amy Chamberlain. Shortly after, Lehigh scored two more goals off of free position shots taking a four goal lead, 6-2.

Erin Warren scored back to back goals pulling the Lady J's within two, but after a quick timeout by the Mountain Hawks, Lehigh scored two quick goals in a span of four minutes giving the Hawks a 8-4 lead with 16:28 left to play. Lehigh found the back of the net two more times before senior
Victoria Carman scored off a free position shot at the 7:19 mark. Junior
Molly Pheterson scored the last goal of the game with 5:26 left in the second half off a pass from Warren ending the game, 11-6.
Sophomore
Ashley Devins tallied 13 saves for Manhattan, while Lehigh's Kyle Begina finished the game with four saves.
The Lady J's play again on Wednesday, March 9 in Brooklyn, NY against LIU University at 3:30 p.m.
