* Over the last three years, the teams have split their six meetings with Manhattan outscoring Monmouth by one point during that time (435-434).

* All four Jasper seniors Calvin Crawford (2), Zavier Turner (1), Zane Waterman (1) and Rich Williams (1) have at least one 20-point performance vs. the Hawks.

* Masiello and MU's King Rice are each in their seventh year at the helm of their respective programs with Masiello amassing 109 career wins and Rice 110.

* By virtue of its 101-96 win at Marist, Manhattan is now 5-3 in games decided by five points or less and 2-0 in overtime.

* The Jaspers went 18-of-19 from the line over the final five minutes/overtime with Williams going 9-for-9, highlighted by converting three with less than two seconds to play in forcing overtime.

* In the last five minutes/OT of its five-point games, Manhattan is shooting 48.2 percent 27-of-56) from the field, including 43.8 percent (7-of-18) from long range, and 74.6 percent (50-of-67) from the line.

* Defensively during that time, the Jaspers are holding teams to 39.0 percent (32-of-82) from the field, including 32.3 percent (10-of-31) from deep.

* Manhattan ranks among the top-three in the MAAC in seven defensive categories: forced turnovers (15.9-1st), scoring defense (69.7 ppg-2nd), FG% D (.428-2nd), blocks (3.9 bpg-2nd), steals (6.5 spg-2nd), rebounding defense (34.7-3rd) and 3-point FG% D (.333-3rd) while limiting the opposition to less than 70 points seven times.

* The Jaspers topped the century mark at Marist for the first time since hitting triple figures in an 111-84 win over LIU Brooklyn on November 26, 2001 (33rd in program history).

* Manhattan rallied from 13 down in the second half while overcoming its second double-digit deficit of the year (St. Francis Brooklyn).

* It was also the Jaspers' biggest comeback victory since overcoming a 16-point George Mason second-half lead on November 25, 2015.

* Manhattan scored 21 points in the extra session at Marist while having five players reach double-figures in points for the first time since last year's opener at Bucknell.

* Waterman led all Jaspers with 23 points and 12 rebounds in registering his first double-double of the year and the fifth of his career. 

* Williams also hit the 20-point plateau in finishing with an even 20. Each player now has 11 20-point scoring performances in their careers with Waterman notching his first of the year and Williams his fourth.

* Waterman grabbed double-figures on the glass for the third time this season and the 10th time in his career.

* Waterman moved into 32nd place on the all-time Manhattan scoring list and now 1,058 career points and ranks among the league leaders in scoring (10.9 ppg-24th) and rebounding (6.4 rpg -7th).

* Waterman, who averaged 16.5 ppg and 10.5 rpg against Monmouth a year ago, has picked it up over the last six games to the tune of 13.0 ppg and 7.7 rpg while shooting 53.4 percent (31-of-58).

* Williams scored 18 of his 20 points after halftime against Marist and ranks among the league leaders in scoring (13.6 ppg-15th), assists (2.9 apg-12th), free throw percentage (.788-13th) and 3-point FG% (.415-12th).

* The fifth-year senior has also connected on all 13 of his free throws in Manhattan eight's game decided by five points or less and now has 942 career points.

* Williams, who scored a season-high 24 points against NIU, paced the Jaspers in scoring for the sixth time against Morgan State with 16 points while also handing out a career-high eight assists.

* Sophomore Pauly Paulicap scored nine of his career-high 19 points at Marist in overtime, highlighted by a pair of game-sealing dunks and is averaging 17.5 ppg and 8.5 rpg during MAAC play while shooting 70.0 percent (14-of-20) from the field.  

* Paulicap registered his first career double-double with 16 points and a career-high 10 rebounds in the Manhattan's MAAC-opening win over Fairfield. 

* Paulicap has blocked at least five shots three times and paces the MAAC in blocks (2.5), field goal percentage (.622) and offensive rebounding (2.8) while averaging 9.5 ppg and 6.4 rpg (9th MAAC).

* Paulicap's six rejections in the win over Hofstra, included three in the final five minutes, and were the most by a Jasper since Rhamel Brown had nine rejections at Siena on February 21, 2014. 

* Paulicap had a career-high 17 points, on perfect 6-for-6 shooting, and eight rebounds against NIU to cap a solid week at the Gulf Coast Classic, in which he averaged 10.3 ppg, 5.7 rpg and 4.0 bpg over the three-day event.

* During MAAC play, Manhattan is averaging 7.0 steals and 16.5 forced turnovers per game.

* The Jaspers have led the MAAC in forced turnovers in three of the last four years (2015-2016, 2014-2015, 2013-2014) while ranking among the top-two in each of the last five seasons.

* In the month of December, Manhattan held teams to 66 points or less five times with the opposition averaging just 64.1 ppg, on 40.4 percent shooting (36.6 percent - 2nd half), including 28.6 percent from long range (.222-2nd).

* In non-conference play, the Jaspers played nine road/neutral games with the program traveling over 5,800 miles, highlighted by trips to Belfast, Northern Ireland, Oklahoma and Florida while playing nine road/neutral games.

* Manhattan was the first-ever NCAA Division I team to win a game in Europe besting Holy Cross 70-54 on December 1, 2017 as part of the inaugural Belfast Classic in Northern Ireland before dropping a 56-55 thriller to Towson in the Championship.

* Crawford earned Belfast Classic All-Tournament team honors after averaging 14.5 ppg over games against Towson and Holy Cross.

* Crawford registered his second double-double of the year against Fordham with 11 points and 10 boards after recording his first with 19 points and 10 rebounds in the win over Harvard.

* On the year, he is averaging 10.0 ppg, 5.2 rpg (15th MAAC) while shooting 45.5 percent from long range (3rd MAAC) while notching double-figures in points seven times.

* Turner scored 13 points in the win over Hofstra, 12 in the victory at Marist and 11 in the win over Fairfield en route to averaging 8.0 ppg and a team-best 3.2 apg (8th MAAC) with a 1.2 assist/turnover ratio (9th MAAC) on the year.

* The Ball State transfer after handed out a career-high matching eight assists against NIU and has scored in double-figures six times.

* The senior quartet of Crawford, Turner, Waterman and Williams has accounted for 58.9 percent (568/964) of Manhattan's scoring and 53.3 percent (242/454) of the Jaspers' rebounding. For their careers, Turner (1,188), Waterman (1,058), Williams (942) and Crawford (736) have combined for 3,922 points.

* Manhattan was tabbed to finish second in the annual MAAC Preseason Poll and paced the circuit with three All-League selections: Waterman (1st), Williams (2nd) and Turner (3rd).

* Williams is the lone remaining member of the Jaspers' Back-to-Back MAAC Championship squads while Crawford and Waterman were also on the 2015 squad with the two having combined for an even 2,000 points.

* Rutgers transfer graduate student Ibrahima Diallo made his debut for the program in the win at Marist, contributing four points and two rebounds. He has one more year of eligibility remaining after this season.

* Masiello has led Manhattan to a 109-100 (.522) record, including going 65-53 (.551) during MAAC play and 53-26 (.671) at Draddy Gym (4-0 in 2017-2018) over his seven seasons, including 40-19 vs. league opposition, with three MAAC title game appearances, three postseason berths, two Metropolitan Coach of the Year honors and two 20-win campaigns. He has also participated in the NCAA Tournament in 13 of his first 21 seasons as a player or coach, including being a part of eight conference champions and one National Title.

* Since returning to Riverdale, Masiello has guided the Jaspers to a pair of MAAC titles as well as a pair of 20-plus win campaigns. In his first tenure, he was a part of two MAAC titles and three 20-plus win seasons. All told, Masiello has been a member of four of Manhattan's five MAAC Championship teams and five of the school's 12 20-win seasons in recording a 192-136 record.

* Now in his 22nd season as either a player or a coach, Masiello has a career collegiate record of 472-246, including 351-218 on the sidelines, with one National Title, two National Championship Game appearances, two Final Fours, six Elite Eight berths, eight conference championships, 13 NCAA Tournament appearances and 15 20-win seasons.

OF NOTE
* Manhattan limited Fairfield to just 18.5 percent (5-of-27) shooting from long range, including 6.7 percent (1-of-15) after halftime
* Waterman led the way against Seton Hall with a game-high 18 points before going for 12 points in the win over Fairfield, and has notched double-figures in scoring seven times in the last nine games ... He also became the 38th member of the program's 1,000 point club with his first-half slam in the 63-61 win over Hofstra.
* Paulicap paces the Jaspers with 12 dunks.
* Manhattan drew five charges against Morgan State and turned them into seven points.
* Despite the loss to Towson, the Jaspers recorded a season-high 12 steals and forced 20 turnovers while scoring 21-straight points that were a direct result of a Tiger miscue.
* In the victory over Holy Cross, Manhattan ripped off a 26-8 run that bridged the end of the first half and the beginning of the second into registering a season-high 26 point advantage.
* The Jaspers forced five shot clock violations at Fordham after drawing six charges against NIU.
* Against Missouri State, Manhattan scored 12-straight points in the first half en route to a 17-3 run that took 6:13 while turning a six-point deficit into a 27-19 advantage with 5:43 to play until halftime.
* All told, the Jaspers scored on 10 of their next 14 possessions against the Bears, spanning 8:50.
* Manhattan defeated Harvard despite trailing with five minutes to play ... A year ago, the Jaspers went 1-19 when losing with five to play.
* In Manhattan's season-opening win over SFBK, Williams had 21 points before going for 20, on the strength of a career-high five three pointers, in a victory over Harvard. 
* Also in the win over Harvard, sophomore Aaron Walker Jr. registered all 11 of his markers in the final 5:51 in helping the Jaspers erase a late six-point deficit. 
* Walker Jr. also came up big in the victory over SFBK, canning a pair of late free throws to force OT.
* In the OT win over SFBK, Manhattan scored on four straight possessions in the extra session and 7-of-9 en route in a win that featured 14 lead changes and five ties.

THE MASIELLO WAY
Since Masiello took over the program in 2011-2012, Manhattan is 39-9 when registering 10 steals, including 28-6 over the last four years, and 22-12 when forcing at least 20 turnovers.

Manhattan was slated to finish second in the annual preseason MAAC Coaches Poll with Waterman (1st), Williams (2nd) and Turner (3rd) earning All-League honors.

112TH SEASON OF JASPERS BASKETBALL
In its 112th season, the Manhattan men's basketball program boasts a 1356-1217 overall record (287-307 MAAC). The Jaspers' storied men's basketball team was established in 1904-05 and took a two-year hiatus during the 1943-44 and 1944-45 season due to World War II.
