BALTIMORE, MD — Manhattan Baseball played to a doubleheader split on Sunday at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. The Jaspers took game one, 3-1, before falling in game two, 14-8, at Alumni Field.
GAME ONE (F/7 MANHATTAN 3 | UMBC 1)

With two outs and runners on the corners in the first, Andreaus Lewis delivered an RBI single which scored Dylan Mayer for a 1-0 Manhattan lead.

UMBC even the score at one apiece in the second inning on a sacrifice fly from Sergio Droz.

Lewis and Aidan Taclas both homered in the fifth inning, which proved to be the final runs in the seven-inning game.
GAME TWO (MANHATTAN 8 | UMBC 14)

Manhattan picked up where they left off in game one, bringing two runs across in the first to take a 2-0 lead. Trevor Hansen and Hunter Sute both delivered RBI singles off Sergio Droz.

After UMBC got three more back in the second inning, Manhattan cashed in again with a two-run home run off the bat of Sute in the third inning, putting the Jaspers ahead 4-3.

Manhattan added another run in the fourth, and two more in the fifth to expand its lead to 7-3. The Jaspers grinded the runs across on a sacrifice fly from Taclas, a hit-by-pitch for Colin Basehore and a wild pitch from UMBC's Ayden Gonzalez.

The Retrievers fired back with 11 unanswered to take control of the nine-inning game. Manhattan added its final run on a double from Sute in the eighth inning.
STATS AND NOTES

Aidan Taclas has homered in four of his last nine games, and leads the Jaspers with seven homers this season.

Andreaus Lewis slugged his third homer of the season in the game one win.

Lewis is now batting .303 for the season.

Brad Grasser secured the win on the mound in game one.

Grasser went seven complete innings while striking out three and only giving up one run.

Hunter Sute had a resounding day, going 6-8 (.750) at the dish.

Sute added four RBIs in game two.

The Jaspers are now 7-13 in non-conference play with one more still to play.
NEXT UP
Manhattan (14-26, 7-13 MAAC) will play host to the Lafayette Leopards (13-32, 8-14 Patriot League) on Wednesday at 3 pm at Clover Stadium. The Jaspers posted a 17-13 win at Lafayette back on March 11.
