EDISON, NY —Róbert Leó Arnórsson earned a spot on the All-MAAC Second Team, per a release from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference on Wednesday morning.
Leó Arnórsson, a freshman from Iceland, has helped anchor the Jaspers' line-up all season. He heated up during the fall season with a second place overall finish at the SHU Fall Classic while helping the team secure a tie for first with Hofstra. Leó Arnórsson ended his final round in impressive fashion with three straight birdies.
At that point, Manhattan had not cracked a first place or runner-up finish since finishing in second at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate in Fall 2023.
Additionally, Leó Arnórsson finished second individually in the head-to-head duel with Merrimack on October 10. Playing at Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, New Hampshire, Leó Arnórsson picked up two birdies en route to the second-place finish at +1.
"Robert has had a great season," said Manhattan head coach Keith Prokop. "He has grown a lot in his first year being a Jasper and truly deserves this recognition for his great season."
Leó Arnórsson, along with Dimitri Mihelakos, Louis Vandeputte, Akshay Mandadapu, Cabell Faulkner and Patrik Vinter, will take to Disney's Magnolia Golf Course this week for the three-round MAAC Golf Championships. The Jaspers and their conference peers will compete from Thursday to Saturday.
