HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After surrendering six runs in the first two frames, the Jaspers responded with Brianna Estevez scoring Manhattan's first run on a double steal set up by a Lindsey Hoag infield single.
- The Red Storm added three runs in the third against Victoria Diaz after she came on in relief.
- Anissa Villalobos laced a single into right center bringing home Kalyn Markel and Tajiana Pickett in the top of the fourth to chip into the deficit.
- In the next inning, Manhattan would take advantage of free passes and an error by the opposing third baseman, bringing two more runs across and cutting the lead to four.
STATS AND NOTES
- Senior Tajiana Pickett drew two walks to go along with a run scored on the day.
- In addition to her hit, senior Lindsey Hoag also drew a walk in the game.
- Freshman Brianna Estevez tallied a hit and a walk to go along with her run scored in her three plate appearances.
- The Jaspers logged four stolen bases as a team on the afternoon. This ties the most recorded in a single game for the Green and White and was accomplished against Charleston Southern on March 1 in the front end of the Buccaneer doubleheader.
- Sophomore Kalyn Markel had two runs batted in to go with a walk and a run scored on the day.
