BALTIMORE, MD — Manhattan softball opened up the UMBC Round Robin #2 with two games on Friday. In game one, Manhattan suffered an 8-3 setback to Colgate before falling 4-1 to Lehigh in game two.
GAME ONE

Sophia Kiseloski contributed to Manhattan's fast start by producing an RBI single which scored lead-off hitter Brianna Estevez, who reached on a single.

With two outs in the first, Jamie Falotico secured an RBI single to score Lindsey Hoag, putting the Jaspers ahead 2-0.

Colgate got one run back in the bottom of the first off a home run from Quinn Livesay. The Jaspers were able to get out of further trouble by inducing a groundout to end the inning.

The Raiders would continue to leave their mark offensively, scoring seven more unanswered runs to take an 8-2 lead.

A productive five-run third inning for the Raiders featured a two-run home run for Alexis Romero and a two-run blast for Jillian Herbst.

Falotico would add another RBI single in the fifth to cap the scoring for Manhattan.
GAME TWO

Anissa Villalobos notched the first hit for Manhattan with a double in the first inning. The Jaspers' threat would end there after the next three batters were all retired by Lehigh's Maria Urban.

The top of the second saw Lehigh come through with clutch hits after Jaspers' pitcher Karissa Spring recorded two outs.

However, the Mountain Hawks would make Spring pay for allowing earlier base runners, notching three more hits to take a 3-0 lead.

Lehigh would tack on one more run in the third inning to make it a four-run game.

Manhattan got one run back in the bottom of the frame when Brianna Estevez recorded a single and then later scored from third on a wild pitch.
STATS AND NOTES

Falotico produced her first multi-RBI game of the season in the loss to Colgate.

Hoag added a hit and two runs vs. Colgate.

Kiseloski provided 7.2 innings of scoreless relief across both games.
NEXT UP
Manhattan will face the same two opponents tomorrow, with a 4:30 start vs. Lehigh (9-13, 0-0 Patriot) and a 7 PM rematch with Colgate (7-13, 0-0 Patriot).
