RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Jaspers pulled off another comeback victory, defeating the LIU Sharks 8-7 after a 6-1 run in the third quarter.

The Jaspers got off to a slow start in the first quarter, giving up three goals and trailing 3-1 by the end of the first.

The tides began to change for the Jaspers in the second quarter, continuing into the third with a 2-0 shutout in the second quarter. These two goals brought the Jaspers back into the game, tying the score before the end of the first half. Rhys Porteous had the very crucial game-tying goal at the end of the second quarter for the Jaspers.

The Jaspers continued their run into the third quarter, scoring three more goals before the Sharks were able to answer back. All three goals were in quick succession, with the one putting the Jaspers in the lead coming at 8:48 by Scott O'Connor. The Sharks wouldn't go down without a fight, bringing the game back within one just before the horn at the end of the third.

With a man-up goal by LIU early in the fourth, this now 7-7 game was back to being a nail-biter. However, to the Jaspers' relief, the game-winning goal was secured by Quinn Bowler with 4:17 remaining.

The Jaspers will now advance to the final round of the MAAC Championships to face the undefeated #1 SHU.

The finals will take place this Saturday, May 4 at 11:00 AM in Riverdale, N.Y.
