The Manhattan Jaspers baseball team secured its first midweek win Wednesday afternoon with a 6-2 victory over FDU at Silver Lake Park. This marks the third win in the past 10 games for the Jaspers, boosting their record to 11-23 overall.

Manhattan's bullpen put on an excellent showing from the mound, limiting the Knights to just two (unearned) runs on seven hits, with ten walks and 13 strikeouts. John Kwiatkowski (1-1) earned the win with 2.1 innings of work. The sophomore faced only ten batters, striking out three while holding FDU to a pair of hits.

At the plate, four Jaspers each collected a pair of hits, highlighting the team's dozen. Frankie Marinelli (2-for-3) sparked the offense with a leadoff single in the fourth. Vincent Davis followed with a double to right-center, and Trevor Hansen (2-for-4) drove them home on a laced hit down the left-field line. Hansen later scored, advancing to second on a walk and crossing the plate on a base hit from Daniel Perez.

Two Jasper runs came in the sixth inning on FDU free passes and a sacrifice fly, while the final run was driven in by Aiden Katzman (2-for-4) in the seventh, scoringĀ Kai Hutchins (2-for-3).

The Knights' two runs, both unearned, were scored in the first and fifth innings.

After tonight's victory, Manhattan will turn to MAAC competition with a three-game series at Marist College starting Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. Saturday's game is scheduled for 1 p.m., with Sunday's series finale beginning at noon.
