RIVERDALE, N.Y. - We are two weeks away from the start of the 2024 Manhattan College softball season. The Jaspers will be led by first year head coach, Bridget Hurlman.
The Veterans
Manhattan welcomes back 19 players from last season, including All-MAAC performers, Lauren Rende and Maddy Weir. Additionally, last year's leading pitcher for the Jaspers, Sophia Kiseloski will be back in the same role, leading the pitching staff.Â
The Rookies
The Jaspers welcome six newcomers. The incoming freshmen include Paige McLaughlin, Kalyn Markel, Camryn O'Connor, Karissa Spring, Kylie Flaherty, and Alexandra Hess.Â
Quote
"Our team is very eager to get out onto the field together for the upcoming 2024 season. Our group has worked extremely hard and has committed to making championship investments over the fall and winter that we know will show up on the field this spring. We look forward to our play demonstrating the heart, grit and determination, which is the Jasper Way." - Coach Hurlman
Be on the lookout…
The Jaspers return all but two starters from last season. With a talented collection of freshmen added to the bunch, Manhattan looks to be in a strong position to have a rebound year and make a run for the MAAC Championship.
The Schedule
Manhattan College travels to three early season tournaments, as well as six other non conference opponents throughout the season. The first game of the season is on February 23rd, against Harvard at the UNF/JU Classic. MAAC play will begin on March 23rd, when Manhattan hosts Niagara for a three-game series. The Jaspers will play a total of 15 games at home. The 2024 MAAC Championship takes place from May 8-11th.Â
