PISCATAWAY, NJ– The Manhattan Jaspers women's basketball team (0-1) fell to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (1-0) by a score of 85-79 inside Jersey Mike's Arena on Monday night.
An even effort put forth by both the Jaspers and Scarlet Knights saw both teams shoot roughly 40% from the field and see six lead changes in the first 20 minutes.
After trailing by as much as 14 midway through the fourth quarter, the Jaspers crawled back with a pair of Gimenez Monserrat triples to narrow the lead to as little as six.
The Jaspers forced Rutgers to turn the ball over 14 times, resulting in 18 points. Rutgers led the battle in the paint by outscoring Manhattan 42-28. The Scarlet Knights also won the second-chance point battle by outscoring in double-digits.

- Junior guard Hana Mühl led the way for the Green and White with 28 points, six assists, a pair of steals, and corralled five rebounds. The Ball State transfer converted nine-of-14 shots from the field. Mühl also led the Jaspers from beyond the arc with six triples in eight total tries.
- Graduate Student guard Ines Gimenez Monserrat netted home 19 points after converting five-of-12 shots from the field. Monserrat was perfect from the charity stripe after logging six free throws in as many attempts. Additionally, she led the team with six rebounds.
- Senior forward Petra Juric registered 11 points, led the way with a pair of blocks and corralled six boards. The Zagreb, Croatia native led on the defensive end with three steals and converted four-of-eight from the floor.
- Graduate Student forward Leyla Öztürk tallied eight points after converting four of eight from the field. She logged one assist, recorded five rebounds, and added one block to her resume.

The Jaspers are off and running in the 2024 season. They continue with a road trip to the Constitution State, where they will face the Blue Devils of Central Connecticut State University on Thursday, November 7.
