FAIRFIELD, CT– The Manhattan Jaspers men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened the 2024-25 season at the Fairfield Invitational inside the home of MAAC foe Fairfield University on Friday and Saturday inside the University's Aquatic Center. The Jaspers finished third in the three-team field with a total of 200 points while the host Stags claimed victory.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Senior Joe Brennan led the charge in the Men 100 Meter Breaststroke with a narrow victory over Fairfield's Enrique Garcia, recording a time of 1:06.39. Exactly .39 seconds faster than the Stags' Garcia.
- In the Men 200 Meter Medley Relay, the quartet of junior Abelardo Cartagena, Joe Brennan, sophomore Gavin Harding, and junior Jonathan Carson combined for a final time of 1:51.53.
- Harding finished third place in the men's 100-meter butterfly with a 1:00.47 time.
- Freshman Tristan Ehrhardt logged a team-best 2:06.35 in the Men 200 Meter Freestyle. The result was good for fifth place in the event. Behind Ehrhardt was Carsen, who recorded a ninth-place finish with a final time of 2:12.01.
- Junior Shayna Millard recorded a time of 1:11.96 in the Women 100 Meter Backstroke.
- In the Women's 50-meter freestyle, Junior Jaila Williamson tallied a time of 28.94, which was suitable for sixth best in the respective event.
- Junior Elle Feneide registered a time of 1:01.83 in the Women 100 Meter Freestyle.

The Jaspers swimming and diving programs are back next Friday, October 11, when it heads to Rose Hill to face the Fordham Rams.
