Lewiston, NY - Manhattan's inspiring play on Saturday at Niagara earned the Jaspers an important 2-0 win, featuring goals from Ziv Dahan and Tony Yeboah both assisted by Sebastiano Musu. Dahan has scored three goals in his last two games, and leads the MAAC with 7 goals for the season.Â
Dahan's lid-lifting goal in the 13th minute came by virtue of the sophomore forward intercepting a pass that was intended for the Niagara goalkeeper Jamie Barry.
In hopes of getting some breathing room, senior winger Tony Yeboah found the back of the net in the 41st minute on a feed from Musu.Â
Ludvig Målberg registered five saves in net to earn the third shutout of his Manhattan career.Â
Musu is tied for second most in the MAAC with six assists this season, trailing only Siena's Dren Dobruna. Musu (4th, 1.17) and Dahan (1st, 1.36) are both top four in the MAAC in average points per game.Â
Coaches Reaction
Head coach Jorden Scott on picking up a huge three points on the road: "I'm really proud of the squad because we came off that break (before Quinnipiac) and were under pressure on Wednesday against a fantastic program and we still brought the energy… Then, to get on a bus and come up here against a team that was off for a week, and with their season on the line, for us to perform like we did made me super proud of the team."
Standings Implications
Manhattan has positioned themselves in a good spot with only three games left in the season and are tied with Sacred Heart and Mount St. Mary's for third place at 10 points. Iona, with 13 points, sits in first place.Â
