Men's Soccer Falls at Columbia, 3-0
NEW YORK, N.Y. - Manhattan College men's soccer fell to Columbia on the road, 3-0, in its lone game of the week.
"I am proud of the team's effort and energy throughout the game, and although the result never went our way it was a great learning moment for many of our young guys who got a chance to step on the field," said head coach
Jorden Scott. "We continue to fight against adversity with key guys not able to play and we will never stop working to find solutions together as one team."
The Jaspers battled all 90 minutes against the Lions but were unable to connect its five shots on goal.
Columbia managed to squeeze in its first goal with a shot inside the far post in the 28th minute. With a 1-0 edge into intermission, the Lions tacked on two more goals in the second period to come away with the victory over Manhattan.
Danny DiMarco started in goal for the Jaspers. He recorded four saves on the night. Manhattan College was led in shots by
Tony Yeboah and
Ziv Dahan who both attempted three shots.
As a team, the Jaspers recorded just one corner kick.
Manhattan will return to action on Monday, September 5 when it travels to UConn. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Storrs.
