Mary Gill and
Kristin Stickdorn finished inside the top 40 of the hammer throw at the 2023 NCAA East First Round on Thursday morning.
Gill finished in 31
st, and Stickdorn was 36
th in the 48-person field on Thursday.
Gill's best throw of the day came on her first attempt—57.38m (188'3"). The distance is just over a meter off her best mark of the season, which came at the ECAC Championships.
Stickdorn's best mark was her second attempt—56.42m (185'1"). The MAAC Champion in the event was consistent on all three attempts, being within half a meter on all three throws.
The pair finished in front of throwers from Michigan, Duke, South Carolina, and others.
