Mahoney entered the game in the third inning with one out and got out of the inning with the score 3-1 in favor of Canisius.
Manhattan tied the affair up in the top of the fourth.
Trevor Hansen delivered a double to center field and it was deep enough to allow
Trevor Santos to score all the way to first to come within one, 3-2.
Logan Pfannenbecker stepped in following a groundout by
Frankie Marinelli and clubbed a two-bagger of his own to the right-center gap to score Hansen and tie the affair up at 3-3.
While no runs were scored in the following two innings, Canisius did have to pull the MAAC Pitcher of the Year, Matt Duffy, in the fourth inning as he has thrown 100 pitches.
The Jasper bats were ignited in the sixth.
Jacob Radziewicz smacked a single right up the middle and moved over to second when Santos drew a walk right after. Hansen singled to left to load the bases for the Jasper leadoff man
Frankie Marinelli. Marinelli started the scoring with a ground ball to the first basemen. Canisius went for the forceout at the plate but the throw was off and Radziewicz managed to score, and it all took off from there.
Pfannenbecker drilled a sac fly to left field to take a two-run lead, 5-3.
Pete Durocher continued the hit parade with an RBI single to take a three-run lead, 6-3.
Jack Lynch stepped in next and hit what should have been a one RBI single, but an errant throw to third in an attempt to get Durocher out allowed him to move the final 90 feet and score, breaking the game open 8-3.
The game was shattered three batters later when Santos returned to the batter's box. He took a 2-2 pitch to deep right field and over the wall for a three-run home run and his seventh of the year, making the score 12-3.
Manhattan plated five more runs to put the Jaspers in line for a run-rule victory in the seventh and Mahoney shut down the Golden Griffin bats in the bottom of the inning to earn the statement victory.
When the dust settled, Manhattan hammered out 14 hits and committed no errors in the field.
Every Jasper reached base safely at least once while Santos and Durocher finished with three RBI apiece.
