Women's Rowing Complete Day One of Dad Vail Regatta

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. - Manhattan rowing competed at the Jefferson Dad Vail Regatta taking place on the Cooper River on Friday. The Jaspers sent three boats to the event, competing in the JV 4s, Varsity 4s, and Varsity 8s.

In JV 4, the Jaspers completed the time trial round finishing seventh out of thirteen boats with a time of 8:28.501. The boat then competed in the second semi, finishing fifth out of six boats with a time of 9:11.644. The final will take place tomorrow at 10:00 a.m., where the Jaspers will compete against Cabrini, Pittsburgh, Merrimack, and Iona.

The Varsity 4s finished the trial round with a time of 8:25.357, good for ninth out of 13 competing boats. The boat will compete in the first semi tomorrow at 8:16 a.m., where they will compete against Merrimack, Boston University, Lafayette, and Penn State. The Jaspers will hope to qualify for the final taking place at 3:30 p.m.

The Varsity 8s completed the time trial in 7:27.012, placing 10th out of 11 boats. This boat will run again in the second semi tomorrow at 8:40 a.m. where they will compete against Iona, Boston University, Western Ontario, and Robert Morris. The Jaspers will hope to qualify for the final at 4:40 p.m.
