RIVERDALE, N.Y. – In the second-to-last regular season game, Manhattan hosted Fairfield, losing 13-3.
Fairfield (11-4, 6-1 MAAC) and Manhattan (6-10, 2-5 MAAC) both started slow in the first quarter, both only scoring one goal each. The first goal of the game was scored by Julianna Iovine. The Stags began to pick it up in the second quarter, dominating the field, scoring five and keeping the Jaspers to only one.
The lone goal scorer for the Jaspers in the second quarter was Jillian Reiner, whipping it in the back of the net with 9:07 left in the half.
In the second half of the game, the Stags shut out the Jaspers and then held them to one in the fourth, accumulating seven more goals along the way. They reached their final margin of 10 goals to win the game.
Manhattan hosts Niagara on Saturday for its next game. The start time in Riverdale, N.Y. is 3:30 p.m.
