Jaspers Prepare to Swim at the ECAC Championships at Navy

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Manhattan's men's and women's swimming and diving teams travel to Annapolis, Md., to compete in the ECAC Championships this weekend.

Racing for the men are Joe Brennan, Branden Deiss, Andrew Lebak, Jack MartinAbelardo Cartagena, and Jonathan Carsen. Racing for the women are Kyla Guilfoil, Mackenzie Tuttle, Abbey Mink, and Shayna Millard.

The Jaspers were last in the pool at the MAAC Championships in Buffalo. 

The men placed eighth in the MAAC Championship with 127 points. Brennan was the highlight of the Jaspers' performance at the MAAC Championships, finishing seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 55.80, breaking the previous school record.

The women placed ninth in the MAAC Championship with 150 points. The women performed well, breaking multiple school records. Mink broke the school record for the 50-yard freestyle in the prelims with a time of 24.06. Mink then went on to break the 100-yard freestyle record two days later, touching the wall in 52.51. Guilfoil also set a new school record in the 100-yard backstroke prelims with a time of 59.04.

The 2023 ECAC Swimming and Diving Championships get underway on Friday, Feb. 24, and run through Sunday, Feb. 26, from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
