Men's Swim & Dive Team Finish Third Day of MAAC Championship

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Manhattan men's swimming and diving team finished the third day of the MAAC Championships in eighth with 102 points. 

Joe Brennan had the highest prelim placement of the day for the Jaspers, having placed eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall at 56.13. This qualified Brennan for the finals. In the finals, Brennan came home in seventh place in the A  for the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall at 55.80, .33 seconds faster than his prelim time. Brennan scored 12 points for the Jaspers and set a new school record. 

Jonathan Carsen and Jack Martin hit the ECAC-A standard for the 100-yard butterfly with times of 53.24 and 53.64 in the prelims. For the 200-yard freestyle, Branden Deiss hit the ECAC-A standard with a time of 1:46.47. Andrew Lebak placed 17th for Manhattan in the 100-yard backstroke touching the wall in 52.92.

In a time trials race, the men swam the 200-yard medley relay in 1:43.29. The team consisted of Abelardo Cartagena, Vinny Tramontana, Islam Yousri, and Christian Skaff.

In the relay events, the men placed eighth in the 400-yard medley relay with a final time of 3:31.48. Participating in this event were Lebak, Brennan, Martin, and Carsen. The quartet scored 22 points for the Jaspers.
