RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Manhattan women's basketball team will face Hofstra University this Sunday at 1 p.m. at David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex.
The Preview: Last time out, the two teams played on Dec. 12, 2009, with the Jaspers falling short, 73-65.
The Opponent: The Hofstra Pride, a top team in the CAA, lost their season opener to VCU, 72-44. In their last two games, they won against Farmingdale (113-24) and Howard (58-49). Hofstra was led in scoring by Emma Von Essen with 29 points against Farmingdale. Against Howard, Emma Von Essen scored 18 points.
Leading the Way: Nitzan Amar leads the Jaspers in scoring with 12.8 points per game, 3.7 assists, and 4.3 rebounds.
Anne Bair is next at 10.1 points per game, while
Petra Juric is averaging 7.9 rebounds per game.
Away Games: Last season, the Jaspers finished 4-9 in away games.
What's Ahead: Manhattan will play at home against Siena College on Thur, Jan. 4 at 11 a.m. for Field Trip Day.
