Fairfield, CT - The Manhattan women's basketball team suffered its first conference loss to Fairfield, 82-58, on the road.

Heather Vulin. "Need to learn from our mistakes and can't wait to get back on the floor on Thursday."
The Jaspers (6-2, 1-1 MAAC) were up in the first quarter leading by four points.
Jade Blagrove led Manhattan in the first half with 10 points and seven rebounds. Unfortunately, that did not stop Fairfield from catching up in the second quarter.
Fairfield (8-1, 2-0 MAAC) had a slow start in the first quarter only scoring 10 points. They managed to come back in the second quarter scoring 31 points which created an 11-point lead. Meghan Andersen led the first half with 16 points and six rebounds. Janelle Brown added 12 points and three assists.
The Stags improved their lead shooting 49.0 percent from the floor. Fairfield was led by Meghan Andersen who scored 26 points and collected seven rebounds, as well as Janelle Brown, who recorded 14 points, along with six steals and five assists.
The Jaspers were led in scoring by
Leyla Ozturk, who recorded 13 points along with five rebounds.
Anne Bair and
Jade Blagrove added 10 points apiece. Manhattan shot 42.0 percent from the floor and 75.0 percent from the free-throw line. Manhattan recorded 28 rebounds and 12 assists.
Manhattan plays LIU on Thursday, December 21st at 12 pm at Steinberg Wellness Center in a non-conference game.
