RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Manhattan women's basketball team continues play in the first week of the 2023-24 season with a home game versus George Washington this Friday at 6 p.m. at Draddy Gymnasium.
 
The Preview: Last time out, the two teams played on Dec. 9, 2022 with George Washington winning in DC, 68-56. 
 
The Opponent: George Washington defeated Howard 64-58 in its season opener. They were led in scoring by Nya Robertson, who had 29 points, including 8 made 3-pointers. GW was picked to finish 6th in the A-10 preseason poll. 
 
Season Openers: The Jaspers defeated CCSU, 52-35, in its season opener. It was the first season-opening win since Nov. 9, 2021, in a 74-66 victory over St. Francis Brooklyn at home.
 
What's Ahead: Manhattan will play at Fordham in its first road game of the season on Thursday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. in a Battle of the Bronx match-up.
