RIVERDALE, N,Y. - The Manhattan men's soccer team returns to Gaelic Park this weekend. The Jaspers will host Rider on Saturday at 2 p.m. for Youth Day. Admission is free for all.
The Path: The Jaspers enter the weekend in first place and a 3-0-0 mark in league play after a 3-2 victory at Marist last week on the road.
Leading the Way: Six different players have scored at least one goal this season, led by Gunnar Studenhofft's four goals. Sebastiano Musu is next with three goals, then Henry Hamilton with two goals. Danny DiMarco has made seven starts at the goalkeeper position this season. He has made 26 saves at the goalkeeper spot after facing 74 shots.
Honors: Manhattan College junior Gunnar Studenhofft was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Studenhofft recorded the first hat trick in conference play for the league as he scored a trio of goals in Manhattan's 3-2 victory on the road at Marist. Gunnar's goals gave Manhattan a 3-0 lead to start the game. He scored his first goal in the 35th minute, then scored his 2nd and 3rd goals in a 9-second span. It was Studenhofft's first career hat trick.
All-Time Series: Rider leads the all-time series 13-6-2. The Jaspers have won the last two meetings. Manhattan won 3-0 in 2022 and 2-0 in 2021.
Rider: Rider sits in second in the MAAC standings with a 2-0-1 record. The Broncs are 5-1-3 overall. Babacar Diene and Ethan Shaw have three goals apiece for Rider. Adam Salama has started all nine games with 27 saves in 96 shots faced. He has allowed only five goals this season.
