NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The Manhattan track and field team wrapped up their events at the Dr. Sander Invite at the Armory on Saturday.
RJ Decker finished second in the weight throw while registering a new PR of 20.53m. The winner was from UCLA, with a best of 22.05m. Decker took down athletes from schools such as Maryland and UConn. Two other Jaspers competed in the weight throw, with
Myron Corpuz and
Joseph Pelio finishing in 11th and 12th with top throws of 14.88m and 14.71m, respectively.
Noah Jefferson and
Dean Niosi ran in the 200, finishing the race in 22.73 and 23.14 each. The other middle-distance events that featured the Green and White were the 400m and 800m. The 400m had three different Jaspers, with the best finisher being
Harrison Alonzo, clocking in a time of 50.61.
Jay Glenn set a new PR in the event, crossing the finish line in 51.28. Another PR on Saturday belonged to
Andrew Simard in the 800m (1:55.63).
On the women's side,
Andria Scaglione finished 22nd in the 3000m, finishing in 10:11.78.
Kristin Stickdorn finished in 10th in the weight throw, launching her top throw 17.08m. The two other Jaspers who competed alongside Stickdorn were
Alexandra Caraher (16.18m) and
Mary Gill (16.13m).
Manhattan returns to action next week for the Metropolitan Championships next Thursday and Friday and the Rutgers Indoor Invitational from Friday to Saturday.
