STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – After a month-long hiatus, the Manhattan women's track and field team took home wins in the 3000m and swept the weight throw at the MLK Tribute Monday afternoon.
Andria Scaglione followed up her win at the Crowell open with another one today, winning the 3000m in 10:21.04. Scaglione won the race by over 35 seconds. In the same event,
Bella Cannizzo finished in third, crossing the finish line in 11:22.51.
The other Jasper victory Monday belonged to
Kristin Stickdorn, winning the weight throw 17.30m. The sweep was completed by
Mary Gill, and
Alexandra Caraher finished in second and third with bests of 17.11m and 16.61m.
Stickdorn and Gil finished in third and fifth in the shot put with top marks of 12.29m and 10.32m.
The Green and White took second and third in the high jump, with
Anya Alfonsetti-Terry taking second with a top jump of 1.50m, with the first place winner leaping 1.60m, while
Elaina Batista cleared 1.35.
Makayla Dorvil took home third in the long jump, leaping to a top mark of 5.25m
The Jaspers race again this week, running in the Ramapo Opener at The Armory on Friday.
