WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Manhattan men's track and field team sits sixth after Saturday at the IC4A Championships at William and Mary.
The Jaspers have 22 points. Twenty-eight different teams have scored a point through two days of competition.
The best finish on Saturday for the Jaspers was third. That came in the first event of the day on the track—the 4x100 relay. Kaya Simpson, Darion Lopez, Dean Niosi, and Larry McCullum crossed the line in 41.22. The time is the fastest time by a Jasper team this season.
Pelle Nogueira was fourth in the 10k, the final event of the day, in a time of 30:40.77. Nogueira picked up five points for the Jaspers.
Marc Carrera collect a point for the Jaspers in the 800m. Carrera finished eighth in a time of 1:52.04.
Also on the track, Simpson posted a personal best in the 110m hurdles (15.27). Anu Awonusi was 12th in the shot put.
The Jaspers are back in action Sunday for the final day of competition at the IC4A Championships.
