QUEENS, N.Y. – Manhattan had four different goal scorers in a 9-7 loss at St. John's on Saturday afternoon.
Jake Nicolosi tallied a hat trick for Manhattan (2-3).
Liam Walshe had a pair while
Jack Shanley and
Sean MacKinney found the back of the net once. Walshe's two-goal day brings his season total to 10.
St. John's (1-4), who played two ranked teams in its first four games, got four goals from Jonathan Huber and four other goal scorers.
The Red Storm netted the first two goals of the afternoon. Nicolosi and Lynch answered for the Jaspers within two minutes of each other later in the first quarter.
Manhattan got goals from
Liam Walshe and Nicolosi and took a 4-3 lead into the half.
Four straight goals for the Red Storm started the third to give the home team a 7-5 advantage. Nicolosi ended the run with his third goal with 14 seconds to play in the quarter.
St. John's collected the first two markers of the fourth too.
Brendan Krebs made 13 saves for the Jaspers.
Manhattan's game is next Saturday, Mar. 12, at Hofstra. The Jaspers and Pride are scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
