Game 1: Hartford 4, Manhattan 2
The scoring started early between the Hawks and Jaspers.
Hartford scored a pair of runs in the first half of the first. The Jaspers answered with a run of their own. The run was scored thanks to an RBI fielder's choice from Marika Deemer to score Lauren Rende.
Gabriella Mazzotta singled to advance Kaitlyn Flood to tie the game at two, in the third inning.
The Hawks retook the lead in the seventh. Emma Curry hit a two-run home run to provide the final 4-2 margin.
Flood finished the game 2-for-3 with a run scored. Mollie Charest got the start for Manhattan and added seven strikeouts.
Game 2: Hartford 2, Manhattan 1
Both teams remained scoreless until Hartford scored in the third inning.
In the sixth inning, Megan Hedlund hit a single to right field to bring Flood home and tie the game at one.
The Hawks added a final run in the seventh inning from a sacrifice fly out to end with a final score of 2-1.
Lauren Rende added two hits for the Jaspers. Marika Deemer started the second game and secured two strikeouts.
Manhattan returns to the diamond on the road Wednesday, taking on Central Connecticut State in a doubleheader.
