RALEIGH, N.C. – The Manhattan men's track and field team competed in the shot put and the 1500m on the first day of the Raleigh Relays at NC State.
 
Anu Awonusi finished 21^st in the shot put on Thursday. The graduate student posted a best of 16.23m, which is within one meter of his collegiate-best outdoors. Awonusi posted the mark on his first attempt of the day.
 
Marc Carrera and Ryan Tierney ran in the 1500m. Carrera clocked a time of 3:52.10 to finish eighth in his heat. Carrera's time is just over a second off his collegiate-best outside. Tierney finished in 3:55.64 to also finish in eighth in his heat. Like Carrera, Tierney's time is just over a second off his personal best as a Jasper outdoors.
 
The Jaspers are in action tomorrow at NC State and Monmouth.
