During the first game, Presbyterian (4-4) had three one-run innings through the first seven to take a 3-1 lead after Manhattan (1-4) scored their lone run in the first inning. In the bottom half of the eighth inning, Presbyterian managed to add another two runs to make the final score 5-1. Manhattan scored thanks to a David Bermudez single to left field to advance Frankie Marinelli to third and score Jacob Radziewicz.
Will Hesslink pitched through six complete innings for the Jaspers and ended the day with ten strikeouts.
In the second game, the Jaspers held the Blue Hose to just four runs.
Manhattan grabbed two runs in the first inning, from a Harrison Treble double to right-center field to score Frankie Marinelli. Matt Padre continued the trend with a single up the middle to bring Treble around the bases.
Presbyterian answered with a pair of runs in the first. Thanks to a fielder's choice and a single to left-center, the Blue Hose tied the game at two. Presbyterian would score two more runs in the bottom of the third to make the score 4-2.
Manhattan had an opportunity to take the lead in the top of the third inning with runners in scoring position. Marinelli singled to center field and advanced to second with the help of a Bermudez ground out. Treble got on base by an error on the shortstop and moved Marinelli to third. Santos then struck out looking, and David Moffett grounded out to second to leave runners aboard.
Jordan Warecke started for Manhattan and lasted five innings while allowing five runs and striking out eight.
